Billing Specialist

Position Overview:


Amyx Inc. is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist to assume vital role in the Accounts Receivable and Billing processing. A highly skilled professional who has previous experience in a similar role is strongly desired. Experience required in Government Contracts and cost accounting in all types of contracts T&M, FFP, CP, etc.. This individual will work closely with Amyx Inc.’s Accounting and Finance team as well as Operations team.


Responsibilities and Daily Tasks:

  • Calculate, prepare, distribute, upload and post monthly billings utilizing CostPoint
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies identified in monthly billing numbers and explain variances.
  • Support Sr. Accountant in managing new assigned customer agreements submitted to accounting for billing and revenue recognition
  • Support tracking of client contracts
  • Respond to customer communications and address customer issues timely
  • Assist with entering invoices into third-party electronic billing portals such as Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF).
  • Prepare and support team with monthly billing reconciliations
  • Reconcile unbilled transactions on a monthly basis
  • Maintain all customer payment, receipt and other transaction records.
  • Solicits payment/receipt on overdue accounts.
  • Follow up timely with customers on outstanding invoices
  • Assist with managing the AR Aging
  • Prepare and review credit memos as needed
  • Adhere to accounting policies and procedures and suggest improvement to current workflow Maintain company accounting systems
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing
  • Lead and/or support special projects or initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance related field
  • 3+  years of experience required
  •  Costpoint 7 experience

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of government contract accounting, Federal Acquisition Regulations FAR, Cost Accounting Standards CAS, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP, and Defense Contract Audit Agency DCAA standards
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint especially Accounts Receivable and Billings Applications
  • Planning and organization: an ability to plan and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
