Amyx is seeking to hire a Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our DOD client in the Reston, VA area.
Responsibilities and Daily Tasks:
A critical aspect of providing a productive and safe working environment for the client is the management of the facility operations and all engineering projects at the facility. The productivity and operational capacity of the facility will rely heavily on the expertise of the Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician. The Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician will provide oversight for all Facility Investment services including but not limited to resource planning and management of skilled laborers who will perform maintenance, repairs, alterations, and demolition, as required. He or she will prepare and implement an Integrated Maintenance Program to include, recurring maintenance, accountability, and trend analysis. He or she will also manage resources in response to requested service calls and minor and major work orders. The Sr. Facility Maintenance Technician will also supervise the preventative maintenance personnel responsible for sustainment, restoration and modernization sub-functions of the facility investment services, which are necessary to maintain a positive relationship with property managers, to effect physical plant repairs, including re-carpeting, retiling, and alarm and surveillance refurbishment to ensure the facility operates without interruption or safety issues. This candidate is responsible for the oversight of all vendors and subcontractor personnel in order to maintain surveillance of their performance and ensure that the DOD Client receives top-notch service to maintain a state-of-the-art facility. This candidate will brief the client on current operational status of all support systems.
o Consolidate clients’ priorities and requirements; and plan, develop, coordinate, and execute them through the Facility Task Lead and client facility lead.
o Identify and recommend solutions for key facility actions, tasks, and projects that support the primary facility.
o Interact with customers and other support staff to coordinate and complete helpdesk tickets utilizing Remedy.
o Coordinate and work with building owner, Management Company, and engineers to ensure they meet their obligations. Utilize the management company’s problem and issue tracking system to ensure problems are resolved quickly.
o Maintain facility capabilities and provide support as needed to support build out and facility maintenance issues, to include supervising day to day maintenance and minor handyman support. Lead drafting, editing and finalization of statement of works for sub-contractors and provide oversight of work accordingly.
o Provide support to ensure quality and functionality of technical aspects of projects and plans. Develop and operate sustainment and support programs, develop space use plans, and provide oversight for new construction and renovation projects. Maintain knowledge of projects and plans for facility and logistics.
o Support and manage vendors and other personnel to ensure work efforts are fully identified and coordinated to enable project completion with minimal operational impact.
o Participate, facilitate, and/or lead various meetings and briefings concerning facility management, occupational evacuation and safety, projects, and other assigned duties. Assist with building weekly and monthly status slides.
o Ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with contractors performing construction support tasks in an SCI environment. Assemble information and assist with responding to senior leaders at client site locations.
o Good writing ability to provide leadership and oversight to the facilities team at the facility.
o Microsoft Office Suite software and other common office programs
Required Skills and Qualifications:
o Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance.
o Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Facilities Maintenance area.
o Five (5+) years’ experience in facility operations or engineering related field.
o Experience in the design and management of SCIFs or other secure facilities of at least 97,000 square feet.
o Ability to take initiative, set priorities and act on them.
o Ability to learn quickly, work autonomously, and a willingness to provide on call support in case of emergencies or other off-hours issues at the facility.
o Be well organized.
o Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software and other common office programs.
o Able to communicate well in writing and orally.
o Top performer who consistently exceeds goals.

o Effective communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.
o Must be a proven team player who can effectively drive the decision-making process.
