Overview

Amyx is seeking to hire a Manpower and Personnel Support Specialist to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Directorate at Ft Belvoir, VA.  Position provides human resources support in a coordinating/liaison role between CTR government staff and the DTRA Human Resources Office.

 

Serves as the Manpower and Personnel Support Specialist, human capital and manpower subject matter expertise (SME), to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency – Cooperative Threat Reduction (DTRA CTR) Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) subcontract in the Lorton, VA area. Position provides human resources/ military and civilian manpower support in a coordinating/liaison role between CTR government staff and the DTRA Human Resources Office.

 

The Department of Defense (DOD) works cooperatively with allies and partners to reduce or eliminate weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threats. The cooperative nature of the DOD’s activities yields a secondary benefit of strengthening regional alliances, deepening existing partnerships, and attracting new partners.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides support and advice to government staff on screening, recruiting, interviewing, and selecting personnel in accordance DTRA, DoD and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) policies, regulations regarding HR operations and the manning of military and government civilian billets.
  • Provide advice and assistance to government staff in the government civilian hiring processes to include drafting of position descriptions, maintenance/update of database tracking all military and government civilian manning tables, vacancies, position descriptions, award, and decorations.
  • Provide support for the tracking and updating of a myriad of military personnel actions including position descriptions, evaluation reports, awards/decorations; retirements; fitness reports; arrival/departure information.
  • When required, supports the Government Management Support Specialist as incumbent represents the directorate at agency level meetings and working groups.
  • Provide assistance in the strategic reviews of CTR capabilities, workload analysis and distribution.
  • Prepares, evaluates, makes recommendations for government response, and executes task reviews.
  • Must have the ability to communicate accurate information

Qualifications

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • A current SECRET clearance or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • For the Manpower Lead position prior supervisory experience is required
  • At least 3 years’ experience in military personnel processes and federal employee policies and processes

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Experience in DTRA or similar Defense Agency or high-level Command
  • Prior DTRA CTR experience is preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in military personnel processes and federal employee policies and processes
  • Currently possessing a SECRET clearance is preferred
