Overview

Amyx is seeking to hire a Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) SME to support our AMPS Legacy contract. This is a fully remote position. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team.

As an OCI SME, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and high-performing OCI environments. You will play a critical role in driving our cloud strategy, ensuring optimal performance, and enabling the delivery of innovative cloud-based solutions. This role requires a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in OCI administration, architecture, and support. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge in Oracle cloud architecture and a strong ability to envision, design, and deliver cutting-edge OCI solutions for enterprise environments. You should be passionate about cloud technology, a strong problem-solver, and eager to contribute to a growing and innovative team.

Responsibilities

OCI Platform Management: Administer, maintain, and support enterprise-grade Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platforms across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. This includes proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and incident resolution.

* Solution Architecture & Implementation: Architect and implement secure, scalable, and resilient OCI solutions using best practices. This includes designing hub-and-spoke architectures, implementing automated provisioning tools, and ensuring adherence to security standards.
* Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Lead cloud operations through the OCI Console, CLI, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python. Automate routine tasks and deployments to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
* Security Hardening & Compliance: Enhance cloud security via SSH hardening, DMZs, NAT gateways, firewalls, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and other modern security methods. Maintain compliance with industry cybersecurity standards and government STIGs/policies (e.g., NIST, CIS).
* Tenancy & Service Configuration: Configure and support tenancy services, including virtual cloud networks (VCNs), compute instances, storage solutions, and databases.
* Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Implement and manage performance monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Optimize OCI resources for cost efficiency and performance.
* Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document cloud configurations, operational procedures, and best practices for internal knowledge base and reusability. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all OCI environments.
* Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders (developers, security, networking, and business units) to assess requirements, develop solutions, and drive operational excellence in cloud environments. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex OCI issues, working with Oracle support and internal teams to identify and resolve root causes.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest OCI features and best practices. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, security, and scalability of our cloud environments.
* Technical Product Management: Contribute to the strategic planning and roadmap for OCI services, aligning with business objectives and customer needs.
