Overview

Amyx is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to serve as the company’s senior authority responsible for the governance, execution, and continuous improvement of Amyx’s enterprise Integrated Management System (IMS) in support of federal government contracting operations.

 

As a senior leader within Amyx’s corporate organization, the Senior Quality Manager will provide strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across ISO 9001 - Quality Management System, ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System, ISO 27001 - Information Security Management System, CMMI, and CMMC aligned initiatives, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements while enabling operational excellence and growth. This role serves as the management representative for quality, partnering closely with executive leadership, Program Operations, Growth, Security, and all corporate functions to ensure quality processes are embedded across the organization. The Senior Quality Manager will lead audit readiness, certifications, process maturity, and continuous improvement in a highly regulated GovCon environment.

 

The position is based at Amyx headquarters in Reston, VA and requires regular onsite engagement (minimum two days per week) to effectively collaborate with leadership, staff, and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Governance

  • Define, implement, and maintain Amyx’s enterprise Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with corporate objectives, growth strategy, and federal contracting requirements.
  • Serve as the management representative for all corporate quality programs, including:
    • ISO 9001
    • ISO 14001
    • ISO 27001
    • CMMI-SVC Level 3
  • Establish and maintain quality policies, objectives, metrics, and reporting mechanisms that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure quality governance aligns with customer missions, contract requirements, and industry best practices within the GovCon community.

Executive Engagement and Oversight

  • Facilitate and lead Executive Steering Committee meetings, including preparation of agendas, metrics, risk assessments, audit results, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide routine quality status updates, briefings, and recommendations to executive leadership and company-wide forums.
  • Partner with corporate leadership to integrate quality considerations into strategic planning, operational execution, and growth initiatives.

Audits, Appraisals, and Certification Management

  • Own and execute Amyx’s internal audit program for ISO and CMMI, including audit planning, execution, reporting, corrective action tracking, and closure.
  • Serve as an internal auditor for ISO programs and lead CMMI internal audit program.
  • Lead preparation for, coordination of, and participation in external audits and appraisals, including:
    • ISO surveillance and recertification audits
    • CMMI-SVC Level 3 appraisals
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, appraisal teams, consultants, and certification bodies.
  • Ensure audit findings are resolved effectively and used to drive systemic improvement.

Process Management, Documentation, and Standards Evolution

  • Oversee the development, review, approval, and maintenance of IMS documentation, including policies, procedures, processes, templates, and artifacts.
  • Lead and manage transitions to new or updated standards or models, ensuring organizational readiness, training, and compliance.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment between corporate process assets and program-level execution.

Information Security & CMMC Alignment

  • Coordinate with Amyx’s parent company and internal stakeholders to support achievement and sustainment of CMMC alignment/certification.
  • Track regulatory and contractual changes (e.g., CMMC v2.0) and conduct ongoing gap analyses.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of quality and security-related documentation to meet evolving requirements.
  • Serve in assigned QMS leadership roles such as Information Security Manager, Contingency Plan Coordinator, or other designated roles supporting compliance.

Program and Organizational Support

  • Provide ongoing CMMI support to programs and corporate functions, including coaching, assessments, and readiness activities.
  • Partner with Program Operations leadership to support program start-ups, transitions, reviews, and recoveries from a quality perspective.
  • Support customer satisfaction and operational excellence initiatives across the organization.

Training, Communication, and Continuous Improvement

  • Plan and deliver required annual training for all employees related to the IMS.
  • Facilitate and oversee annual internal customer satisfaction surveys, including survey development, communication, analysis, and executive reporting.
  • Analyze trends, lessons learned, audit results, and feedback to drive data-informed continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and compliance consistent with the “Amyx Way.”

Vendor, Consultant, and Budget Management

  • Develop and manage the Quality Department budget.
  • Track expenditures and review and approve quality-related invoices.
  • Manage relationships with quality consultants, certification bodies, and external service providers.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal government contracting environments.
  • Experience working with one or more ISO programs, with ISO 27001 strongly preferred, and in a CMMI quality environment.
  • Proven experience leading internal audits within ISO and CMMI programs.
  • Direct participation in external ISO audits and CMMI appraisals, including preparation, interviews, and coordination.
  • Experience managing a small internal/external team.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing executives.
  • Experience developing and maintaining corporate process and procedures and the ability to drive improvements internally.

Preferred

  • ISO Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 and/or ISO 27001).
  • Experience leading or supporting transitions to new standards or models (e.g., ISO revisions, CMMI updates).
  • CMMI Associate
  • Experience supporting CMMC or NIST SP 800-171 alignment efforts.
  • Background supporting IT services, cybersecurity, or complex service delivery programs.
